Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

Ash & Associates, L.L.C. Is looking for a design engineer to join our land development group in San Marcos, Texas. The design engineer has responsibility for preparation and coordination of technical activities on assigned projects. The scope of work may include such items as plan sets, schedules, conducts and coordinates, assigned engineering work, code compliance, the use of accepted engineering practices and standards; effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between registered engineer and all other project participants.

    Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
  • Preparing plans and specifications for water, wastewater, storm water, grading and drainage designs for various land development projects including industrial, commercial, and residential subdivisions.

  • Coordinate and investigate applicable codes and standards for project sites.

  • Perform engineering takeoff work in various construction fields (wastewater, water, infrastructure, bridges, roadways, interchanges, airports, earthwork, site utilities, paving and landscaping.

  • Prepare takeoffs and update plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various construction and design build projects.

  • Assist Project Engineer in the day-to-day interaction jurisdictional agency personnel as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by engineering staff.

  • Assist with administrative and project management related tasks for various construction estimates, scheduling, proposal preparation and document management.

  • Assist with engineering studies AND scheduling projects.

  • Provide accurate takeoff using spreadsheets and earthwork programs.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • EIT Certified or Eligible to sit for Exam.

  • 1-2 years relevant experience with a civil engineering consulting firm.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS

  • Ability to build plan sets and other construction documents.

  • Design experience in multi-acre retail development that includes utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence and permitting.

  • Understanding of local governmental public and private development codes and ordinances.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Party Chief

Applicant must possess minimum 5 years experience in supervisory role in Boundary, Topographical and Construction surveying. Applicant must have clean driving record and pass background check for employment.

Instrument Man

Applicant must possess minimum 2 years experience as Instrument man in Boundary, Topographical and Construction Surveying . Applicant must have clean driving record and pass back ground check for employment.
